1. What are cookies

A cookie is a small data file that is stored on your device and contains data such as your personal page settings and login information. This data file is generated by the web server that you used to establish a connection via your web browser and is sent to you. In general, we use cookies to analyse interest in our web pages and to make them more user-friendly. You can access our web pages without cookies in principle. However, if you want to use our pages fully and smoothly, you should accept the cookies that enable certain functions to be used or make the use of our website more user-friendly. MAN uses cookies to make its offers more user-friendly, more effective and more secure. Our cookies do not contain any person-specific information.

By using our web pages, you agree to the use of cookies provided that you have enabled cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers are set to accept all cookies by default. However, you have the option of setting your browser so that cookies are displayed before being stored, only certain cookies are accepted or rejected or cookies are rejected in general.

Please note that changes to settings only ever affect that particular browser. If you use different browsers or change device, you will have to adjust the settings again. In addition, you can delete cookies from your storage medium at any time: Delete all tracking cookies. Please refer to the Help section of your web browser for further information about cookie settings, changing the settings and deleting cookies:  in Manage cookies. For more information on cookie settings, how to change them and how to delete cookies, please refer to the help function of your web browser.

Below is a list of the most common types of cookies and what they are used for.

2.1. Permanent or log cookies

A permanent or protocol cookie stores a file on your computer for the period specified in the expiration date. These cookies allow websites to remember your information and settings the next time you visit. This leads to faster and more convenient access because you do not have to change your language setting for our portal again. Once the expiry date has passed, the cookie is automatically deleted when you visit the website that generated it.

2.2. First party cookies

These are placed by the website itself (same domain as in the browser address bar) and can only be read by that particular website. These cookies are usually used to store information (for example, your settings) that will be used on your next visit to the website.
